We are open and delivering from Everton Hills 7 days a week, with friendly, old-fashioned, customer service! We consider ourselves industry leaders in landscape supply, garden supplies, & hardware. We are also a proudly independent hardware store, & family run.

Our landscaping supply & hardware business has grown to be one of the largest resellers of blocks and pavers in Queensland. We offer a massive range of big-name and boutique bricks, pavers and retaining wall blocks at a great price. We are perpetually improving our paver and block displays to help make your selection easier. Our displays, landscape yard, and hardware store are conveniently located at the one location.

We supply bulk landscaping materials to all over Brisbane and South East Queensland. Whether you are a home gardener, DIY or a tradie, you will be impressed with our range and professionalism. We supply mulch, soil, gravel, pebbles, sand, bases, timber, cement products, garden products, chemicals, hardware, turf, grass seed and garden accessories. And we have a large network of quality suppliers of landscape and hardware, so if we don't have it in stock we can get it for you!

Our History

1983

Steve Jones (yes, he is a real person) pioneered the concept of a joint hardware and landscape supply centre in Brisbane. With the help of his parents, Jeff & Betty, Steve opened the small hardware store and landscape yard in an old boat builder's shed in Everton Hills. It was then known as Old Northern Road Building & Landscape Supplies. At the time he shared the space with several other small businesses including a mechanic and a cabinet maker.

1988

Expo 88- This historical event put Brisbane on the world stage. This ambitious project transformed a neglected run down part of South Brisbane into a world class event. As a young man and only being in Business for 4 years, Steve was asked to tender for some of the landscape projects, to his surprise he got the job. With the end in sight and record rain forecasted, it was a race to finish the project in time. Steve and his team worked around the clock , sometimes having to sleep in the trucks to supply material in time and in doing so made lifetime friends and felt a true pride in what they had achieved.

1996

Steve Jones aligned with the Danks Group (Home Hardware) in order to increase the scope of his hardware offering. By this stage, the store was occupying sheds 1 through to 7 at 280 Old Northern Road. To celebrate the occasion, he gave away a 6x4 box trailer.

2005

Steve Jones achieved independence from the Home banner while maintaining a full range of hardware. By this stage, the warehouse and landscape yard had taken over the entire block of 280 Old Northern Road, and he was working to establish a paver & block yard at 27 Queens Road. When Steve Jones Block & Pavers officially opened, another trailer was given away to mark the occasion, as well as a ute and a tinnie!

2010

True to his innovative style, Steve established Brisbane's first hardware & landscape website with full eCommerce capability. The website took over a year to create, as each product was entered into an online database manually.

Noticing the reduced size of house blocks in South East Queensland, Steve slowly grew his fleet of "Mini Tippers" to allow easier access to tight delivery locations.

2020

Steve Jones has continued to service the Brisbane home improvement & landscape market through a very interesting year. In order to maintain our customer service offering during the work-from-home home-upgrade upswing that has characterised 2020 for us: We closed down our equipment hire business. We upgraded our phone system, increased our staff, & upgraded our front sales counter. We offered free delivery to seniors & for small local loads, we painted lines on the ground, & we sold the last of Queensland's turf. Work commenced on a complete website upgrade to better serve our customers in this new reality. Steve and his family are committed to facing the future in the same way they always have: with optimism, determination, and a sprinkle of dad jokes.

Today

Steve and his team continue to innovate within the landscape industry, providing interesting and unqiue products, pushing for the increase in quality of garden products whilst always providing the best family friendly service possible.
